The wind energy developments are increasing – in Norway as well. Studies and experiments in different countries show that wind turbines are having impact on different electromagnetic systems. This is caused by the size of the wind turbines, the radar reflecting material used and the moving parts of the wind turbines. Our project has studied the impact from wind turbines on radar, secondary radar, radio link and passive sensors. The main delivery has been the software supporting tool WTES. This is developed to support the Defence in their treatment of applications for a concession on wind energy development. The project has published eight reports, participated in international forums and has arranged two seminars on wind energy. The seminars had participants from the wind energy developers, public authorities and the Defence.
