Forsvarssektorens miljødatabase (MDB) - brukerstøtte for personell med miljøansvar

This report is a description of the Norwegian defence environmental database (NDED) both as a system and as a tool for environmental management in the defence sector. It is meant as a user support tool for the defence sector personnel, as well as a source of information to better understand the connection between NDED, environmental management, and continual improvement. Personnel with environmental responsibility could be; environmental officers, environmental consultants, local personnel with specific responsibility within waste, transport, energy etc., or a manager on a higher level which is responsible for the entire environmental performance of the organization. NDED is a tool that is used to meet the environmental reporting requirements of the sector and is used as decision making support for environmental improvement on all levels in the organization. In the report, each specific environmental aspect (waste, energy, fuel, ammunition, chemical, water and acute emission) which shall be reported into the NDED is described and the routines regarding the reporting is explained. This report replaces the document “Guidelines for reporting of environmental aspects in NDED“(“Retningslinjer for registrering av miljøaspekter i forsvarets miljødatabase”) which has been available on FISBasis.
