The purpose of this work was to explore how the so-called inoperability input-output model (IIM) can be used as a tool for investigating scenarios and resilience aspects in a Total Defence perspective. The results show that IIM with its dynamic formulation can provide insight to critical infrastructure resilience aspects not easily gained otherwise. To allow further exploitation of IIM for national resilience analyses, it is recommended to build a database of interdependency matrices for the functions and critical infrastructures that constitute the Total Defence system. This database should be applicable for a broad range of scenarios, in particular scenar-ios that are used for security and defence planning.
