This report presents the following nuclear weapons related treaties: Treaty Banning Nuclear Weapon Tests in the Atmosphere, in Outer Space and under Water (LTBT) (1963), Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) (1968), Treaty between the USA and the USSR on the Limitation of Underground Nuclear Weapon Tests (TTBT) (1974), Treaty between the USA and the USSR on Underground Nuclear Explosions for Peaceful Purposes (PNET) (1976) and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT) (1996). The presentations include member status as of May 2003, contents and significance of the treaties, some history and an evaluation of the position of the NPT and CTBT as of May 2003. The report also lists nuclear weapons related treaties currently under negotiation.
